SCAM ALERT APRIL 2026: Scam Impersonating Our Founder, Dr. Tan Chong Koay
Pheim Unit Trusts Berhad (“Pheim”) wishes to alert the public to a recently identified scam involving the impersonation of our Founder and Chief Investment Officer, Dr. Tan Chong Koay, on social media platforms.
We have been made aware of an Instagram Reel circulating online which features an AI-manipulated video of Dr. Tan, purportedly discussing market fluctuations. This content has been created without our knowledge or consent and is not an official communication from Pheim or Dr. Tan.
We wish to emphasise that:
Pheim does not produce or distribute investment advice via unofficial social media accounts or manipulated video content.
Dr. Tan Chong Koay does not endorse or participate in any such content outside of Pheim’s official communication channels.
Any investment-related messages or solicitations originating from such sources should be treated as fraudulent.
We have lodged a police report on this matter to safeguard our interests and also hopefully prevent any unsuspecting member of the public from falling prey to unscrupulous manipulators.
Members of the public are strongly advised to exercise caution and refrain from engaging with, sharing, or acting upon such content. If you encounter suspicious materials or believe you may have been approached by individuals misrepresenting Pheim or its representatives, please report the matter to us immediately.
